Discuss the similarities and differences to the first chapter of the novel. Why do you think the writers/producers made those changes?
There are many similarities with this video and Lord of the Flies. Children are stranded on an island with no adults, they have a shell or "conch", and there are a couple little clips of them gathered around discussing things, as if they were having a meeting. The only difference was that there were girls on the island to. I think they did this to not be sexist, and maybe use it to their advantage to make it funny.
